RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has made a significant stride in enhancing its tourism landscape by extending its electronic visa (e-visa) program to citizens of eight additional countries, according to an announcement made on Sunday.
The Ministry of Tourism disclosed that this expansion encompasses nationals from Albania, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, the Maldives, South Africa, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Travelers from these nations now have the option to conveniently apply for a visitor visa online or opt for on-arrival processing upon their entry at Saudi Arabia’s ports of entry.
This visitor e-visa empowers individuals to embark on a variety of journeys within the Kingdom, ranging from exploratory tours and the sacred Umrah pilgrimage to reconnecting with family and friends or engaging in business activities.
Highlighting this remarkable development, Ahmed Al-Khateeb, the Minister of Tourism for Saudi Arabia, expressed, “By expanding the e-visas to 8 new countries, Saudi Arabia takes another step forward in opening its doors to the world and offering an easier and simplified travel experience for all visitors to the Kingdom.”
