Verbal Clash Erupts Between BSP MP and BJP MLC at UP Event
Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, August 6, 2023 — A heated exchange between Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Member of Parliament (MP) Danish Ali and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Hari Singh Dhillon disrupted an official event in Amroha. The incident reportedly unfolded after BJP supporters began chanting slogans in favor of their party, prompting a confrontation between Ali and Dhillon.
As the event progressed and Dhillon commenced his speech amidst the slogans, Danish Ali approached him, resulting in a verbal argument between the two. Dhillon later informed journalists that he had raised the “Bharat Mata ki Jai” (Hail Mother India) slogan, which was met with objection from Ali. Dhillon questioned the controversy, stating, “What is wrong with raising the Bharat Mata ki Jai slogan at a government event? He shouldn’t have done it.”
Ali offered a different perspective, highlighting the presence of BJP workers and officials dominating the stage, and emphasized that they were the ones promoting their party leaders and ideology. “I objected to this saying that this is a government-organized program and how can you convert it into a political program?” Ali stated, underscoring the importance of maintaining protocol during official government functions.
The BSP MP clarified that he had been invited by the Railway Ministry due to his role as the local MP, and his efforts had led to the modernization of two railway stations in his constituency. Reacting to Dhillon’s claims, Ali retorted, “Those who never took part in the freedom struggle want to teach us patriotism,” alluding to the BJP’s stance.
The event in question saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurating the redevelopment of 508 railway stations across India through a video conference. During his address, PM Modi criticized the opposition for engaging in “negative politics” and accused them of obstructing progress. He expressed his view that a certain segment of the opposition prioritized obstruction rather than constructive work. The incident at the Amroha event brought to light the ongoing tensions and differing perspectives among political representatives, with the clash revolving around the balance between government-sponsored functions and political agendas
